Two days on the Goldy, Sheraton Mirage, 22 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, absolutely lovely!
The reason for our visit was no mere winter escape, but for the Adapt Digital Edge conference.
Digital Executives, CIO’s and Transformation specialists from across the country (and around the world) flocked to the Goldy for what was a content rich and seamless experience hosted by the Adapt crew.
The subject matter centred around digital transformation but by the end of the conference our favourite subject “people” was clearly the main event.
Without the right people, you can’t change much. For positive change to occur, some people need to leave an organisation and new people need to be brought in. It is what it is.
Does change or digital transformation really mean adding bean bags, table tennis, stand up desks and “agile boards”? Or is it more important to bring in the best people in the market? Your thoughts welcome…
We were pleased to hear that specialist technology recruiters are still highly valued by senior leaders who control budgets. Some of the below was repeated throughout the conference:
“Recruitment is our biggest challenge”
“How do we get the best talent?”
“Our current PSA is not delivering, they are not specialists and they don’t understand our business”
All in all, whether you’re changing, transforming or generally recruiting, it’s people that get results, not initiatives.
